Like with any skill, leadership attributes don’t necessarily come naturally—but can be learned and developed with the right support. When your leaders have the knowledge and capabilities to work at their best, and empower the same from their teams, they are more likely to achieve organisational goals; to be productive, engaged and satisfied at work.
The People Place offers a suite of practical training and coaching programmes, designed especially for New Zealand business managers and leaders. Each programme, facilitated by a skilled and industry-experienced Consultant from our team, delivers valuable insight, essential knowledge and useful tools.
The programmes are typically delivered in a group format. The end result: enhanced self-awareness, improved EQ, strengthened capability, and closely aligned teams. We also offer one-to-one coaching where required.
Like any skill, leadership takes time, and practice to hone and craft.
We'd be delighted to chat with you about how our training programmes can work in your business; we have options to suit different organisation sizes and contexts.

Our sister company Beminded NZ offers uniquely science-based and results-focused, practical training, that helps participants with productivity and time management.

The Government plans to repeal the Holidays Act 2003 and introduce new legislation in early 2026, with major changes including day-one leave accrual, increased annual leave cash-up options, and mandatory itemised payslips. The Employment Relations Amendment Bill proposes allowing employment termination by mutual agreement through formal pre-termination negotiations, potentially reducing lengthy disciplinary processes. From May 2026, a Privacy Act amendment will require organisations to inform individuals when their personal information is collected from third parties. The 2025 Employment Monitor shows improved worker awareness of employment rights, though some migrant groups remain vulnerable to exploitation. Finally, a recent ERA decision confirms that casual employment labels don't override the reality of permanent working arrangements, emphasising the need for employers to ensure contracts reflect actual work patterns and maintain clear communication about any changes.
